Alfalfa contains large amounts of protein, calcium and fibre that is vital for proper functioning of the digestive system, particularly in rabbits. High levels of methionine and cystine in alfalfa protein positively affect new hair growth. Alfalfa also contains a lot of beta-carotene, chlorophyll and vitamins, mainly A and K.
