DESCRIPTION

Linseed is a rich source of omega-3 acids, including linolenic, palmitic, oleic and stearic acids, which prevent cardiovascular diseases and lower cholesterol levels. Owing to the high content of fibre, it enhances gastrointestinal motility and prevents constipation. Mucilaginous compounds contained in the seeds soothe irritation of the gastric and esophageal mucosa. Linseeds are good sources of protein, carbohydrates, B vitamins, including folic acid, as well as vitamin C and valuable minerals such as magnesium, zinc, phosphorus, calcium and copper. They also contain a lot of lignans that have antioxidant properties and may help prevent cancer. Linseed lowers blood sugar levels and maintains a healthy coat in animals. In case of constipation, brew it in a covered pot, drain the seeds and administer a cold drink into the animal's mouth using a syringe.
